Today (March 5), canalys, an authoritative market regulator, released the fourth quarter of 2020 and the annual analysis report on the volume of smartphone shipments in China (mainland market). The report shows that in the fourth quarter of 2020, Huawei (including glory) shipped 188million units, with market share falling from 41 in the third quarter of 2020 to 22; oppo rose to the second place, with 17.2 million smartphones shipped; vivo ranked third with 15.7 million.

Apple has achieved its best delivery performance in China in recent years, with more than 15.3 million units shipped in the fourth quarter, with a market share of 18, up from 15 in the fourth quarter of 2019. Millet ranked fifth with 12.2 million units of goods delivered, up 52 year on year.

Peng said it may be the hardest time for Huawei to serve its domestic market under the ban. Huawei’s shipments in the fourth quarter shrank by nearly 50% year-on-year. Although Huawei’s demand for products is still huge, Huawei will not meet its demand in the foreseeable future.

Other head manufacturers are aiming at the opportunity. Oppo, vivo and Xiaomi compete for offline channel resources of Huawei all over the country, including channel partners in towns and towns, and invest huge funds in store expansion and marketing support. These measures have brought immediate results, with market share rising rapidly in just a few months. Positive expansion is the key words for the channel construction of oppo, vivo and millet in 2021.
